Afaik, DoT has the greatest potential for damage (as in, you’ll do more damage in the long run) and it’s fantastic for crowd control (most enemies don’t attack while on fire, including mercenaries). You want to increase elemental buildup (chance of setting the enemy on fire), burn duration (period over which they remain on fire), burn rate (how often damage is applied while the enemy is on fire), and elemental damage (how much fire damage is applied up front and at each ‘tick’). For DoT, look at Agamemnon’s set as a good example. There are two paths you can go down: damage up front or damage over time (DoT).
